The Coloma-Watervliet joint Sewer Authority is a collaborative partnership between the City of Coloma, Coloma Charter Township, City of Watervliet and Watervliet Charter Township. The authority is responsible for the development, financing construction, and operation of the Paw Paw Lake Area Sewer System No. 34. This authority ensures safe, clean and efficient wastewater services for participating communities.
Key Functions:
- Spearheads construction and upgrades of regional sewer infrastructure pursuant to approved engineering plans.
- The sewer authority superintendent oversees day-to-day operations, including equipment upkeep and emergency response.
- Superintendent manages monthly billing of user charges and special assessments, with periodic reviews and oversite by Board members.
- The authority provides plant-flow data and maintenance reports to the municipal boards.
Membership:
The Authority is governed through a contractual agreement among the Municipalities of City of Coloma, Coloma Charter Township, City of Watervliet and Watervliet Charter Township. Each Municipality appoints representatives to the Joint Sewer Authority Board, often drawn from township trustees, supervisors, managers, or department heads.

The Joint Sewer Authority Board holds regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m., 4789 Defield Rd. Coloma, Mi. 49038
